Privacy

We don’t have your data.

Sync Speak has no servers, no accounts, and no telemetry. There is nowhere for your data to go because there is nothing between you and the providers you choose. This page is the full policy.

What Sync Speak does

Sync Speak is a desktop application. It captures audio from your local microphone, sends that audio directly from your computer to the API providers you configure (Sarvam AI for speech-to-text and text-to-speech, Groq for translation), plays the result back through a local virtual audio cable, and writes a local history log. That is all.

What leaves your machine

  • Audio snippets of your Hindi speech are sent to Sarvam AI for transcription and synthesis. Their policy: sarvam.ai/privacy .
  • Transcribed text is sent to Groq for translation. Their policy: groq.com/privacy-policy .
  • Nothing goes to Sync Speak — we operate no backend service.

What stays on your machine

  • Your API keys, stored in %APPDATA%\com.syncspeak.app\config.json on Windows (equivalent paths on macOS and Linux). Plaintext, local file only. Acknowledged limitation — see SECURITY.md. Tracked as a follow-up to encrypt.
  • Your translation history, saved locally for scrollback. Clearable at any time.
  • Your voice and TTS preferences, stored in the same config file.

What Sync Speak does not do

  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, nothing.
  • No crash reporting to any server.
  • No automatic update telemetry.
  • No account creation, no sign-in.
  • No tracking pixels on this website. (The site uses Cloudflare Pages, which sees standard HTTP request logs — same as any host.)

Changes

This policy reflects the behaviour of the current release. Any change — for example, if we ever add analytics — will be announced in the release notes and reflected here before the change ships.
